Adeleh Mousavi's artworks:

Reinterpretation of the (Panj o dah- Dane balout) “Five and Ten – Oak Seed” Eslimi geometric pattern using Grasshopper software with the Girih plugin

This artwork is inspired by the intricate geometric patterns of Eslimi art, which have been reimagined using modern design techniques. The individual pieces of galvanized sheet metal, precisely cut using a CNC machine, are layered and folded like origami before being welded together.

The artwork explores geometry’s concepts of order, symmetry, and complexity. Using simple geometric shapes, Eslimi art creates intricate and beautiful designs. These patterns have been used in many traditional Iranian buildings and art forms, symbolising order and harmony in the universe.

In this work, the artist has employed modern materials like galvanised sheet metal and cutting-edge technologies like Grasshopper software and the Girih plugin to reinterpret these traditional designs. This bridges the gap between past and present, showcasing the dynamism and diversity of Islamic art.

Moreover, the final form of the artwork, reminiscent of a blossoming flower, embodies the beauty and elegance inherent in Islamic art.
