I am a self-taught graphic designer and illustrator (born in 1998 – Tehran), holding a bachelor’s degree in interior architecture from the University of Science and Culture. My favorite subject in the field of illustration and graphic design is creating fantasy and dream-like worlds. These worlds can take various forms; including patterns, moving patterns, isometric city illustrations, or isometric typography. After realizing that architectural projects do not fulfill my enthusiasm and eagerness, I decided to create my works in the fields of architecture, graphic design, pattern design, motion graphics, generative arts, and even a combination of them. Through my works, I always strive to depict my surreal and magical imaginary worlds and express my mental spaces.
Golchehreh Sadeghi's artworks:
In my video art piece “Hypnomotifs,” I explore the use of Persian rug motifs to convey a story through geometric shapes. Drawing inspiration from the intricate patterns of Persian art, I aim to present a contemporary interpretation of these motifs. Through the dynamic interplay of black and white geometric shapes, I create a fluid atmosphere that captivates viewers with its perpetual movement.
Every frame in this artwork narrates a mysterious tale, drawing viewers into a realm of captivating forms. My main goal with this video art is to evoke emotions and offer sensory experiences to the audience. By showcasing motifs in continuous circular motion, I intend to guide viewers on a hypnotic journey immersed in mesmerizing geometric patterns.
This artwork is an attempt to combine my cultural heritage with modern media and link tradition and new approaches.
