Ehsan Kazerooni, born in 1996 in Australia, is an Iranian architect and graphic designer. He holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Science and Technology and is advancing his studies in Canada.

One of Ehsan Kazerooni’s most significant professional achievements is winning first place in the Tamayouz Award international competition in 2018. Furthermore, with the same project, he managed to become a finalist in the 2A Award continental competition in Madrid the following year.

Ehsan Kazerooni recently published his collection, “Archeature,” in the online art and architecture magazine DesignBoom. This collection was selected as one of the top 10 submissions for the year 2022 by the same magazine.

Archea-ture:

In a time when technology and inventions are advancing rapidly, and we are surrounded by overwhelming issues and news, our identity and influence are still shaped by our past and history. Our culture, art, and architecture from the past are filled with abundant potential and ideas that, by understanding and exploring the hidden lines, geometry, and forms within them, we can create new entities.

In this collection, I have endeavored to create new creatures using a collection of photos by George Steinmetz and traditional patterns and forms, intending to express an identity influenced by tradition and history.

This project is an attempt to establish a dialogue between the past and the present, creating novel forms from traditional patterns. The Archi-tures are not confined to the past or the future; instead, they are in a stage of transformation and metamorphosis, seeking to discover their own identity.

Mask:

An effort to reflect identity and continuity is manifested through the transformation of patterns and motifs of Iranian architecture on the faces of two children. The motifs and designs of the past not only showcase our roots but also remain present in our contemporary lives, albeit in altered forms over time. These transformations bring the old patterns into new and diverse shapes that find their place within our modern lives.

Despite these changes, these motifs continue to define the boundaries and core lines of our identity. Future generations will also encounter these transformations, but these patterns and designs, as a strong link between the past and the present, form an integral part of our cultural and national identity, fostering temporal and cultural continuity among generations.
