Saeed Shahlapour's artworks:

The statues made by Shahlapour have been both figurative and abstract works of art with an open and tentative quality. Shahlapour is fully aware of the potentials of materials such as wood and metal and exploits the energetic rhythm and form in the space. Some of the features of his works are as follows:

directly working with materials, unmediated physical interaction of the artist, and visible traces of these interactions.

He regards art as the soul of the artist’s life, considers the social-political content in his works, and believes that art influences society.

The main element of this artwork is the active rhythm created by the bashes of the tool; this has always been an integral element of his work, and even a reflection of his personality. The form is created by engraving, and the figures repeatedly get closer to some ideas and distance them in the space within the notches. As it is essential to the wall, this artwork defines and divides the space and directs the viewers’ body. The notches move the space within and around the statue, and the rhythm of the work extends beyond its borders and vibrates the space. Doing so, this work of art increases the awareness of the viewer and encourages their movement in the space.
