Bita Shakari is an artist, designer, and independent curator based in Tehran. She graduated in Stage Design from the University of Tehran and has completed courses in curatorial studies at Empty Space Art Studio as well as environmental thinking courses in artistic methods and curatorial practices at the Zurich University of the Arts. Her research focuses on curatorial knowledge in artistic and architectural practices. Her professional activities include co-curating four editions of the Patternitecture Biennial – a platform for exploring and expanding patterns in contemporary art and architecture – and organizing workshops and lectures in this field.
Ghazal Rafalian is an architect specializing in the design of experimental spaces and digital fabrication. She holds a PhD in architecture from the Polytechnic University of Barcelona, with a focus on digital technologies in cultural heritage. Ghazal developed the “Girih” plug-in for Grasshopper in Rhino3D software and is the co-author of the book Algorithmic Architecture. She also co-curates the interdisciplinary project Patternitecture. Currently based in Barcelona, she collaborates on the development of creative spatial installations and ephemeral architecture, blending technology with art to create new spatial experiments.
